Silver Labradors
Have run into quite a few people lately that have never heard of a "Silver" Labrador... Silver Labradors are registered as Chocolate Labradors, "Charcoal" Labradors are registered as Black Labradors and "Champagne" Labradors are registered as Yellow Labradors. My Labradors are all dual registered AKC/UKC Purebred Labrador Retrievers. LKC does not accept the dilute colors as a standard for the breed so therefore they are a disqualification in the conformation arena but they may compete in many other events from obedience, agility hunt and field trials, etc. All of the breeders that I have dealt with do all of the appropriate health clearances and DNA. I hand pick my breeding stock and am working hard to title all of my dogs and will make Champions before I make puppies.

Thanks Penny...I just get tired of the negativity from uneducated people, I am proud to work with the breeders I do and for the breed itself, so I am hoping that between all of us "Silver" Lovers we can provide the info necessary to educate the public! So Hang in their kid, even without their approval we are going places!
ReplyDeleteI have a 2 year old silver male. Also have a silver factored female from his first litter.. And for all that have never seen a silver, well...be prepared to fall in love......
